Our family is extremely grateful to have been leasing a plot at the 5th street community gardens for about 5 years now. It has provided us with the ability to home grow food and teach our children (now 8 year old twins) on not only how to grow your own food, but the enjoyment of producing more than we can eat and the sheer joy of giving it away to our neighbors. It is exactly what our children's grandparents did and thanks to the City of Davis with an affordable lease, we love our 5th street garden.
It was surprising to find that there have been no special forums for Davis gardeners available, so we set this up in hopes that people will enjoy using it.
It opened today, August 9, 2024 when it's just a mild balmy 90F and everyone please do test it out and see if it works.
